More than a century ago, Goldfield was a thriving gold-mining town nestled between the Goldfield and Superstition mountains. Today, the town is one of the most beloved tourist destinations in Arizona. Although it’s referred to as a ghost town, there is nothing deserted about it. Hundreds of visitors tour Goldfield Ghost Town each year in order to experience the excitement and mystique of Western history.

A Wild West Experience

Once you enter the ghost town, you’ll be intrigued by its story. Each element of the property provides a peek into the life of a miner, and everything feels completely genuine. Whether you’re panning for gold at the Prospector’s Place or rolling through the underground mine on a guided tour, you’ll fully sense the Old West dynamic. Even the bad-to-the-bone gunfighters keep the spirit of Goldfield alive.

Historic Appeal

Tour guides are available to tell the tale of Goldfield’s colorful past. Your favorite tour will likely be aboard the Superstition Narrow Gauge Railroad, which includes a 20-minute narrative about the town. The train circles the area, so you’ll enjoy fantastic views. For more sightseeing and storytelling, head to the O.K. Corral Stables for a guided horseback ride through the gorgeous mountain region.

Action-Packed Family Adventures

One of the greatest aspects of Goldfield Ghost Town is that it’s fun for the entire family. Older kids can brave the Superstition zip-line that soars high above the Apache Trail area, and younger ones can channel their inner gunslinger at the Straight Shot Shooting Gallery. One attraction everyone will love is the Mystery Shack. You’ll be confounded by its bizarre, gravity-defying forces.

Vintage Charm

The authenticity of this revived town is part of its allure. You’ll strongly feel the Western vibe whether you’re moseying along Main Street, relaxing at the ice cream parlor, exploring the museum or enjoying a juicy burger and sarsaparilla at the saloon. Even the town merchants offer goods that capture the essence of the original town.
