In addition to the tournament’s conventional rounds of golf, pro golfers present motivational speeches, players participate in trick-shot shows and a clinic is held for junior golfers. There is even an all day green out that coincides with the zero-waste effort of the tournament. For one day, everyone in attendance is encouraged to dress in green, and funds are raised for various environmental organizations.

One aspect of this event that makes it stand out is the 16th hole. Nicknamed the Coliseum, this famous area is turned into an amphitheater, and it becomes party central during the competition. Spectators are part of the action, and audience participation is definitely expected. If you’ve ever wanted to get rowdy during a golf game, this hole is for you.

After sunset, the entertainment level is raised even higher. The Coors Light Bird’s Nest tent basically becomes a temporary nightclub. Over the course of four nights, various singers and groups from the country and pop universe put on mini concerts for tournament guests. Some pretty big names have performed there in the past. The celebration is a great way to end your time at the Open.

Pro-golf followers look forward to this annual tournament because it really involves the fans. It’s worth experiencing whether you’re an enthusiast or occasional observer. When planning your trip, keep in mind that our hotel is just a few minutes from the venue. To be guaranteed a room, it’s best to reserve now for the 2017 season. You won’t regret it, and you’ll probably want to return year after year.
